The brelse() function tests whether its argument is NULL and then returns immediately. Thus the test around the call is not needed. This issue was detected by using the Coccinelle software. fs: Fill in max and min timestamps in superblock

Fill in the appropriate limits to avoid inconsistencies in the vfs cached inode times when timestamps are outside the permitted range. ext2: Use kmemdup rather than duplicating its implementation

kmemdup is introduced to duplicate a region of memory in a neat way. Rather than kmalloc/kzalloc + memset, which the programmer needs to write the size twice (sometimes lead to mistakes), kmemdup improves readability, leads to smaller code and also reduce the chances of mistakes. Suggestion to use kmemdup rather than using kmalloc/kzalloc + memset. vfs: create a generic checking and prep function for FS_IOC_SETFLAGS

Create a generic function to check incoming FS_IOC_SETFLAGS flag values and later prepare the inode for updates so that we can standardize the implementations that follow ext4's flag values. Note that the efivarfs implementation no longer fails a no-op SETFLAGS without CAP_LINUX_IMMUTABLE since that's the behavior in ext*. Signed-off-by: Darrick J.
