2025-08-29scripts: sphinx-build-wrapper: get rid of uapi/media MakefileMauro Carvalho Chehab2-1/+90
Now that kernel-include directive supports parsing data structs directly, we can finally get rid of the horrible hack we added to support parsing media uAPI symbols. As a side effect, Documentation/output doesn't have anymore media auto-generated .rst files on it. 2023-11-17media: doc: properly format ToC headingsVegard Nossum1-6/+1
"class:: toc-title" was a workaround for older Sphinx versions that are no longer supported. The canonical way to add a heading to the ToC is to use :caption:. Do that. 2022-01-28media: lirc: report ir receiver overflowSean Young1-2/+9
If the driver reports that the hardware had an overflow, report this to userspace. It would be nice to know when this happens, and not just get a long space. This change has been tested with lircd, ir-ctl, and ir-keytable. Signed-off-by: Sean Young <sean@mess.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@kernel.org>
2022-01-28media: lirc: remove unused lirc featuresSean Young1-18/+0
These features have never been implemented by any lirc driver, including staging or out of tree drivers. The ioctls for these feaures were removed in commit d55f09abe24b ("[media] lirc.h: remove several unused ioctls"). So, we can safely remove them. 2021-12-14media: lirc: always send timeout reportsSean Young3-55/+3
Without timeout reports, it is impossible to decode many protocols since it is not known when the transmission ends. timeout reports are sent by default, but can be turned off. There is no reason to turn them off, and I cannot find any software which does this, so we can safely remove it. This makes the ioctl LIRC_SET_REC_TIMEOUT_REPORTS a no-op. 2020-10-15media: docs: make RC documents more compatible with Sphinx 3.1+Mauro Carvalho Chehab16-75/+73
Sphinx 3.x broke support for the cdomain.py extension, as the c domain code was rewritten. Due to that, the c tags need to be re-written, in order to use the new c domain notation. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-09-01media: docs: use the new SPDX header for GFDL-1.1 on *.rst filesMauro Carvalho Chehab27-212/+27
SPDX v3.10 gained support for GFDL-1.1 with no invariant sections: https://spdx.org/licenses/GFDL-1.1-no-invariants-or-later.html So, remove the license text, replacing them by this new SPDX license. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-04-14media: docs: move uAPI book to userspace-api/mediaMauro Carvalho Chehab27-0/+3041
Since 2017, there is an space reserved for userspace API, created by changeset 1d596dee3862 ("docs: Create a user-space API guide"). As the media subsystem was one of the first subsystems to use Sphinx, until this patch, we were keeping things on a separate place. Let's just use the new location, as having all uAPI altogether will likely make things easier for developers. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
