2025-09-10drm/msm/registers: Generate _HI/LO builders for reg64Rob Clark1-0/+7
The upstream mesa copy of the GPU regs has shifted more things to reg64 instead of seperate 32b HI/LO reg32's. This works better with the "new- style" c++ builders that mesa has been migrating to for a6xx+ (to better handle register shuffling between gens), but it leaves the C builders with missing _HI/LO builders. So handle the special case of reg64, automatically generating the missing _HI/LO builders. 2025-09-10drm/msm/registers: Remove license/etc from generated headersRob Clark1-36/+1
Since these generated files are no longer checked in, either in mesa or in the linux kernel, simplify things by dropping the verbose generated comment. These were semi-nerf'd on the kernel side, in the name of build reproducibility, by commit ba64c6737f86 ("drivers: gpu: drm: msm: registers: improve reproducibility"), but in a way that was semi- kernel specific. We can just reduce the divergence between kernel and mesa by just dropping all of this. The files generated by gen_header.py capture the source path to the input files and the date. While that can be informative, it varies based on where and when the kernel was built as the full path is captured. Since all of the files that this tool is run on is under the drivers directory, this modifies the application to strip all of the path before drivers. Additionally it prints <stripped> instead of the date. 2024-05-30drm/msm: remove python 3.9 dependency for compiling msmAbhinav Kumar1-2/+3
Since commit 5acf49119630 ("drm/msm: import gen_header.py script from Mesa"), compilation is broken on machines having python versions older than 3.9 due to dependency on argparse.BooleanOptionalAction. Switch to use simple bool for the validate flag to remove the dependency. 2024-05-07drm/msm/gen_header: allow skipping the validationDmitry Baryshkov1-3/+11
We don't need to run the validation of the XML files if we are just compiling the kernel. Skip the validation unless the user enables corresponding Kconfig option. This removes a warning from gen_header.py about lxml being not installed. 2024-04-22drm/msm: Fix gen_header.py for older python3 versionsJon Hunter1-2/+3
The gen_header.py script is failing for older versions of python3 such as python 3.5. Two issues observed with python 3.5 are ... 1. Python 3 versions prior to 3.6 do not support the f-string format. 2. Early python 3 versions do not support the 'required' argument for the argparse add_subparsers(). Fix both of the above so that older versions of python 3 still work.
